Both sides of car
Our single tier transfer car has twin roller beds for carrying two batteries, and works with single tier storage modules. It is either mains or battery powered and has an operator cab with ergonomic push button controls.
Traction batteries of all types can be handled. They are loaded and unloaded by the magnetic push/pull arm in a fast and efficient process that removes the need for operator input. This transfer car has a 3000kg capacity.
Single Level Storage
This transfer car stores batteries in a single level storage system. The car moves along an aisle beside the storage modules where it will pick and place batteries. A joystick with proportional sensitivity controls all movements in a smooth and efficient manner.
Battery Handling
Moving batteries onto the car requires a pulling action; batteries are pushed off the car onto the forklift truck or the battery charging station. Batteries are moved by a magnetic push/pull arm that attaches itself to the battery casing.
Precise Positioning
Car and battery alignment is controlled by a system of photo-cells that ensure the car's roller bed is precisely positioned prior to moving a battery. The magnet head can be rotated thro 180degrees so that batteries can be handled on either side of the car, or the car can be fitted with two magnets as shown in the picture.
Vertical Alignment
A system of hydraulic rams raises and lowers the roller bed whilst a four way flow divider and rack and pinions keep the roller bed level. To vertically align the roller bed with the the bottom of the battery a laser beam is used sighting a target which is preset at the required level.
Aisle Guidance
The transfer car is guided in the aisle by guide wheels located on its side. These locate over a guide rail, which is bolted to the floor and has “Stops” fitted at each end of the rail.
