Fact
Handling batteries using our powered systems reduces the space required for the battery changing facility by over 80%, often paying for itself in reduced building costs.
FAQs
Q: How do I know if I would benefit from a Powerlogic system?
A: If you have spare batteries for your electric vehicles that you change, then you will benefit from one of our systems.
Q: I charge my forklift truck battery in the truck will I benefit from a Powerlogic system?
A: No. Many forklift truck users charge the truck’s battery when it is not in use. In these cases the battery does not need changing so a Powerlogic system is not relevant.
Q: How do I know what type of system will benefit me most?
A: This is a function of the number of batteries you have to change, charge and store. For small fleets, say ten trucks or less a small single level system will be fine. The more batteries you handle the more space is required, so then the multi-level systems become more relevant. Space saving will often cover the cost of the Powerlogic system.
Q: When you talk about space saving covering the cost of the system what do you mean?
A: If you have a vehicle fleet of say sixty trucks, a traditional charging area would need to be around 6000 square feet. If instead you installed a multi-level Powerlogic system you would save up to 80% of this space. This could be used as additional warehousing space or you could reduce the size of the building in a new build situation, hence the cost saving.
Q: Why do you offer different shelf configurations?
A: Battery sizes vary, and for each battery you require a charger. To get the optimum size of system you may want to have two shelves for the chargers to get more batteries in a given space. Another consideration is safety. As batteries are charged, hydrogen is produced. Moving the mains powered chargers to a shelf behind the dividing wall reduces the hazard.
